Welcome

A very warm welcome to new parishioners and visitors.  The Star of the Sea church is the church of the Catholic parish of Portstewart, Co Derry, Northern Ireland in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Down and Connor.  Situated on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, it serves the people of this town and its tourist visitors who more than double the local population in the summertime.  The church was built in 1916, a year before the Dominican Convent opened in Portstewart.  There are about 2000 parishioners, some of them retired people.
