LIVING LENT WITH LOVE
Wanting to do something extra during Lent?
LIVING WITH THE WORD OF GOD
LECTIO DIVINA – a meditative reading of the Word of God for Lent, focusing on the Sunday Gospels through quiet reflection and prayer. Beginning Tuesday 13th February at 7.45pm in the Marian Hall (access through the side door of the Church) and continuing each Thursday after that from 22nd February from 7-8pm.
A five week programme for 18-30 year olds, discussing central aspects of our faith and helping us to move from being mere spectators to being fully committed disciples of Jesus. Each Wednesday in the Marian Hall from 6-7.30pm.
VESPERS AND TAIZE PRAYER
Each Tuesday in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church from 6-7pm followed by Mass. Starting with the Angelus at 6pm, there will then be Vespers (Evening Prayer of the Church) followed by quiet, meditative prayer with music, Scripture and times of silence.
LENTEN ROSARY WALK
Each Friday at 1pm in Agherton Cemetery, and then to Portstewart Cemetery, walking around and praying the Rosary for our Beloved Dead
DEMENTIA FRIENDLY MASS
Ballymoney parish is offering special Dementia Friendly Masses at 2pm on the Saturdays of Lent from 17th February to 23rd March. Carers and families are invited to bring along loved ones with dementia or memory issues for a shorter (30 minute) Mass with familiar prayers and hymns. There will also be a chance to light candles, receive the sacrament of the sick or go to confession.
